Volvo V90 Cross Country

Volvo had an over the air update for all cars with the Google UI. Recently my speakers and other electrical components have been having issues. I took the car to the dealership for evaluation since it's under warranty. The dealer said the issue is a known software issue that started a couple months ago. The only software change my vehicle has had has been the OTA update. Now Volvo is charging to fix the issue even though they introduced it in their own update.

In our 2021 Volvo XC90, the hybrid battery has completely failed, which I suspect is a common issue in this model. The error message is Hybrid System Failure, and the dealership has confirmed that the entire battery will need replacement. Volvo has not listed this car as subject to a recall over this issue, and I suspect they are underplaying its frequency. We have been waiting weeks for a replacement to become available.

The infotainment will randomly overheat and a system warning will come on that begins cooling the cluster by turning on the air vents. I have taken the vehicle to Volvo several times to address the issue and they do a software update but the problem returns within a few weeks. The safety sensors will also randomly turn off while driving. I have contacted Volvo several times to no avail. Infotainment/Car Software upgraded to 3.7 and have not LOST the PIP 360 camera in reverse. 360 camera appears black and only left with rear camera.

Rear light malfunction alert. Intermittent. Seems to happen when humidity is high.

During the rainy season, moisture found its way inside the right passenger real tail light, causing a “brake malfunction” error on the dash and deactivating the passenger rear brake light. After the moisture dries, the light comes back on but is intermittent. The light continues to malfunction during rainfall. This is a huge safety concern as there is no way to reset the system to turn on the brake light, unless the moisture dries.

Rear taillight failure due to moisture incursion. No message appeared, but light failure was observed less than a month ago. Car is in for regular service now and item is being replaced at great personal expense, since it will not pass required safety inspection until repaired. Reporting this here because it is a known problem for hundreds of owners of this vehicle, and should be subject to a safety recall, but Volvo has repeated refused to address this flaw. Automatic tailgate door, which was open for loading, randomly came down and struck me in the head. Door did not retract on contact but continued downward. No one was in vehicle. Neither keyfob or button were touched. I'm on blood thinners, this was a dangerous head injury. Could be extremely dangerous for children. When it rains, I receive a warning that the rear position lights are failed. The left tail light stops working and I'm without a signal and brake lamp. This issue resolved its self when it's had time to dry, usually within two to three days.

The 2017 trim leather dash panel cover peals significantly on the upper side and front side facing passenger. This may affect the airbag expensing by interfering with parts of the dash panel and could also introduce second harm in cases of these components flying out in high speed.
